The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of live transmissions to movie theaters worldwide, returns for its second season at Albert Lea's Marion Ross Performing Arts Center on October 5 with the first of 10 performances. Tickets for the general public are available beginning today, August 21.
“We are happy to once again serve up an exciting mix of operas and opera stars to our loyal audiences watching live from Vancouver to Moscow, and on a delayed basis in Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand,” said Peter Gelb, the Met’s General Manager and Executive Producer of the transmissions. “While the world may roil, operatically it is in harmony on our live transmission days.”
The Albert Lea Civic Music Association will kick-off the annual ticket drive on Monday, August 5. About 50 volunteer ticket sellers will begin their yearly contacting of past season ticket holders and new prospects. The annual drive will continue through August 20. Tickets may also be purchased through the mail and at the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Even after the drive is finished, one can purchase a season ticket at the ticket window prior to each concert.
Membership prices are quite reasonable, costing no more than a single-event ticket at many metro venues. This means that even if you have to miss a performance, your membership is still a great value. Keep in mind that your season ticket allows you to attend not only the five concerts in Albert Lea, but also performances in reciprocal communities!
Single tickets are not sold for these concerts. So don’t be late, buy your ticket during the ticket drive!
All concerts take place at the Albert Lea High School Auditorium. Admission by season ticket only. Tickets go on sale in August.
