The Helen Wipplinger Piano and Organ Scholarships are available for students in District 241 (Albert Lea School District), District 2134 (Wells School District) and any adult living in Freeborn County, MN. The scholarship is for one year of private lessons (26 lessons) on either the piano or the organ from a qualified private teacher of the student’s choice. Organ teachers must have pedagogical training. A list of qualified organ teachers in the area is available upon request. Because of Mrs. Wipplinger’s interest in preparing musicians as organists for churches, organ scholarships will be given priority.

  • 26 - 60 minute lessons $1,040

Albert Lea Civic Music Association is pleased to offer music lesson scholarships for voice and instrumental students who live in Freeborn County, MN. These scholarships are available to Middle School and High School students and are for 26 music lessons, to be scheduled during the school year. Applicants must be recommended by their current private teacher or their school music teacher. These scholarships are not intended for beginning students. Rather, they are designed for those showing promise and a desire for improvement on their instrument. Students will study with a qualified teacher whose training and expertise is on the same instrument the student will be studying. If the student is not currently connected to a qualified teacher, the Scholarship Committee will assist in finding a qualified teacher. Scholarships will be subject to availability of a teacher.
